Host Own Website

In my search to create a relatively successful website, I came across a whole bombardment of information concerning the serious risks I would be under, the expenses I would have to afford, and the time I would have to dedicate to maintenance. To be completely honest, my business is in dire need of the exposure a website would provide, but I am definitely not willing to take time away from other responsibilities simply to keep up with the demands of hosting my own website. I quickly realized that if do want to host my own website, one of two things will happen: I will become increasingly frustrated with all the maintenance procedures and outright quit, or I will be kicked out of my endeavor due to extreme security issues that will affect my project negatively and eventually kill any chance I have of achieving success.

So I asked myself this question: How do I achieve safer home web-hosting? Sadly, I ran into a lot of discouragement:

Serious Security Risks

Firstly, in order to host your own website, you would have to be approved by your server. I’ve heard of cases in which the client is denied by the server simply because the security risks are such a hassle to deal with. After surpassing this obstacle, there is the dmz for safer home. This is basically a security-related middle man that will protect your network by servicing both the internal and external networks without mixing the two. You see, and this is completely necessary, especially if you have a fear of getting hacked, which trust me, is not a paranoid thought at all. Security problems are so great that you will be considered lucky if you are hacked early on and then just learn from that experience. Also, it’s just too hard to keep up with needed security. The time you will be dedicating to this issue alone won’t leave you time for anything else, which brings me to my next point.

Time Consumption

One of the greatest issues you will face when hosting your own website is time consumption. I’m not kidding when I say that you must be completely dedicated to the maintenance of your website. If you do not dedicate enough time to maintaining your page running and making sure that it’s not hacked, then your users will not be able to access your home-hosted website because the connection will be in such disorder that it will literally take them ages to load your page. Be aware that the time it takes for your webpage to load may either encourage or discourage users from staying on your page. A fast loading webpage is sometimes the difference between whether or not your website is successful. Sometimes people just want a quick source of information and if they can’t access it readily on your webpage, they will just move on to someone else. This is the point that first made me to consider the idea of web hosting companies. Host web providers have a connection-sharing router that gives users access to your website. Since it is their priority to provide others with this connection service, you can avoid the frustration of having to deal with a slow connection on your own. Therefore, having a host web provider instead of doing it on your own can be extremely beneficial, not to mention time-saving, and vital to success.

Extra Expenses

I also quickly realized that if I wanted to host my own website, I would have to lay down a serious amount of green. One of the first stacks of bills I would have to sacrifice would go to my Internet Service Provider, who would charge me an extra fee for hosting websites at home. The second extra expense would come from the fact that my server cannot keep up with the traffic a website receives, so I would have pay for a TI line simply to manage the generation of traffic. Additionally, you would have to buy a computer from which you would run your home-based website. Under no circumstances are you to use your own personal computer for web-hosting. Not only is it incompetent for this type of job, it is also under extreme security risk in this situation.

My Discovery of Web-Hosting Companies

I recently came across a great web-hosting provider that saved me from the mess I was getting myself into trying to host my own website. Hostgator is definitely the web-hosting company best suited for your home-hosted website. I was first thinking about hosting a home-based website, but when I looked into the services provided by web hosting companies, I quickly abandoned that idea. I realized that the success of my website would be almost completely dependent on the web-hosting service I chose, so I choose Hostgator. This is the method that works!

To make sure that you are getting the right host, you must take a deep look at the quality of the service they provide, because again, the success of your website is dependent on your insight in choosing the right web hosting service. Your package manager should be able to answer any questions you have regarding their specific service and their policies on your choice of domain names, your router’s configuration, etc.

The hosting features provided by Hostgator are really practical, inexpensive, and safe! Plus they provide my up-and-running website with all the essentials and protection that are necessary to keep up with traffic. It’s not that I wouldn’t like hosting my own website, but the security risks are not something I want to worry about. I also want to save as much time and money as possible with updating and maintenance so that I can focus on the business aspects of my website. Host Gator has really worked for me and I am so grateful to have come across this great web hosting provider before I did any damage to my business!
